Business is not hard, showing up every day is hard. In order to not fail you have to be obsessed, you have to be there every single day dealing with the storm while trying to be noticed. In order to succeed you need a bit of luck on top of the obsession and extreme dedication. Once you feel it in your bones running a business changes you. You never want to go back to working for someone, it becomes a part of who you are and how others perceive you. People talk about money, doing what you love, working less hours or with people that you like but that's only true for some entrepreneurs and definitely not all of us. I would argue most business owners don't really care about that stuff that much. I think the control of your own destiny, having your own life, future and finances in your own hands, like a gambler holding his hand, that feeling of uncertainty, looking down from a cliff as if it all could come to an end in a second is what drives us. No, we don't want to listen to others telling us what to do, we don't agree with your policies, we know what we need to do and how to do it. Sure, in some cases we might have no idea and in those times there are opinions to consult or hire or learn but there are always options. Every new day is full of options in business as in life. Some people have the guts to take those options and make something of themselves while others will always find excuses. Don't be the person with the excuses, try to look at the bright-side and think about how it could look if things did work out. But then be realistic about your abilities, budget, time and other factors. Nobody said this is easy because it is fucking hard but you know what, I guarantee you it's worth it.
